...lets hold off on the donuts...
Hi all. Well, I have to say I'm not sorry last year is done. Some time around Thanksgiving when I realized I couldn't possibly hold my studio sale last December (ugh...don't ask), I officially dubbed 2012, My Year Of Failing. I've had a holiday sale in some form or another every year since 1990.
2005...actually one of my best sales. Sold every last piece. Not kidding. Every. Last. Piece. Sure there was the sympathy factor.....
Even After Katrina in 2005, I set up at our broken powerless house and had a sale. It wasn't just this past year's sale, of course. All year I think I missed, postponed, or fudged every deadline or goal set and then rode that bus all the way to December 31 when I dropped Christmas packages for the family off at Fedex a week late and half hour before the last ground pick up. The pick up came early so I missed that too. The Christmas cookies and little plates I made didn't actually even leave Baton Rouge until January 2. Thus...*sigh*....my year of failing was complete...
YAY! Onward and Upward.
...but no sense dwelling. Onward and Upward, right?
First things first, or next things next. You remember these little dudes, yes?
wee mugs
...give yourselves a hand....
Thank you, all of you, who purchased or promoted my very small fundraiser to benefit Cerf+ and their work to get artists back on their feet after superstorm Sandy. All the wee mugs sold and this allowed me to donate $264. Ok, correction then. I met one goal on time this year, but not without y'all so thank you. You are awesome.
Goals for 2013? Under the circumstances, I think I'll just keep those to myself for now and finish up with pots from the latest mini shop update. Some of them have already moved on to their forever homes, but many are still hanging around making snarky comments, poking at each other and generally distracting me from my work.
There are indeed the mildly snarky ones...
all the woodland animals agreed it was time for this "put a bird on it" thing to end.
The whimsically creepy ones...
...do you think sugar skull dogs chase sugar skull cats?
...whimsically creepy-er still....
...what doesn't say "Happy Valentines Day" like a conjoined sugar skull dog and cat coffee mug?
...and the cute ones....
...this is cute? We might be a little short on truly cute this update..
Alrighty. Can't start the new year without a tiresome pet picture...
the good kitty with her new friends.
See y'all next time.
I'm going to go with "F'ing Mayans" and leave it at that.
